As anyone in business knows, reputation matters – it’s on the line with every job – and I’m the one who meticulously manages our clients’ projects to protect theirs (and ours); I won’t turn a blind eye to bad quality and if there’s a problem I resolve it… and then some! I genuinely love our clients and want to get things 100% right for them every time.
I’m the chatty, funny one (I tell a good story, like the one about me seeing Lorraine Kelly with her bra off) and always have a smile on my face. That’s because the great relationships we have with our clients make me happy and many have become like friends. We build trust and respect that works both ways and often slip into their businesses and become their invisible design team.
I’m creative and although I don’t do design any more, I’ve still got an eye for what works. It helps me do my job – well, that and my copious lists that are so detailed clients ask me for a copy to use as their project plans!

When it comes to design, delivering the whole brand shebang is what floats my boat; thinking about all the little details of not only how something will look and feel but how it will be used too.
That’s why I make sure I personally take our briefs so I’m able to pick up on what a client wants – even when they’re not sure what that is. And I often find that while they’re talking, a vision of the design forms in my head taking their half-formed idea and making it whole.
As a designer, I’m motivated by a desire to make everything we do exceptional, so there’s a lot of thought behind the creativity (it’s not just about making things look pretty). My ideas are drawn from all over the place and a round-the-world trip in my 20s opened my eyes to how the value of particular brands was conveyed, regardless of language and culture, which cemented my interest to work in branding.
Clients say I’m the quiet one (well, next to Claire who wouldn’t be?) but once they get to know me they realise I’ll always pipe up and challenge them if I think it’s in their best interests. And I believe that quest for the best is what’s led us to win awards for our work – although I’m more proud of the fact that 75% of our clients come to us following a referral.
And out of the two of us, I’m the one who keeps ultra-cool under pressure. So no matter how tight the deadline, I’m always focused on getting the job done.
